The PMA8000 Series is our flagship audio panel, providing the platform that specific capabilities can be included, or stick with the basic panel.   From PMA8000B to the newest PMA8000G, the pilot selects which model that best meets their mission.

The PMA8000 series are all Plug ‘N Play with the GARMIN GMA340 audio panel.

PMA8000B – PMA8000BT- Two capable panels, one with and one without Bluetooth®

PS Engineering PMA8000B and PMA8000BT different only in the fact that the PMA8000BT provides Bluetooth® connectivity.
These audio panel have many innovative capabilities to the general aviation audio panel. And it all starts UP- FRONT of the unit with the front panel utility jack as well as front panel audio panel configurations. Using our exclusive Smart Function Keys, the pilot can customize their audio panel to their specific requirements.

The front-mounted, 2.5mm multipurpose jack give pilots unprecedented access to their audio panel, allowing connections to cell phones, portable music devices, or audio announcements directly into the audio panel.
PS Engineering incorporated some “smarts” with this new jack. When used as an entertainment input, the music can be directed to the crew and/or passengers. PS Engineering’s patented SoftMute™, Karaoke Mode™, along with the four different mute modes (Mute ON; Mute OFF; Intercom Mute; Radio Mute) gives the pilot the most music flexibility available today.
PS Engineering has devoted considerable effort in providing a means of customizing the audio panel to meet particular needs. Ease of use was foremost, so voice annunciations are used with the selection of each function. These voice prompts assure the pilot knows exactly what the selected function is, in plain English.
Three different configurations can be selected from the front panel, such as how the music is distributed, the way the intercom functions, and selecting the new Monitor Function. Once a particular configuration is selected, a female voice announces that selection and will remain in affect until the pilot changes that selection. No audio panel from any manufacturer offers this kind of flexibility.
The Monitor mode allows the pilot to designate one com radio as primary, while having the second com as the secondary audio source. When there is radio activity on the primary radio, the secondary com radio will temporarily mute. The Monitor mode will change your IFR approach environment, eliminating having to try to decipher two simultaneous radio receptions
While the PMA8000BT allows connection to a telephone wirelessly, the PMA8000B utility jack can also connect to a telephone by a hard wired connection using the front panel jack. See connect your cellular telephone for details.
When the cellular phone is connected and the pilot pushes the “TEL” button our “Du-tel”™ system goes online. The Pilot can make a private phone call, everyone can be on the phone, or just the pilot and copilot can use the telephone. This selection is made by the ISO, ALL and Crew switch.
While using the phone, the pilot can receive and transmit on the selected VHF COM, for seamless integration in the cockpit. (Cellular telephone use in flight is not permitted, but remains a convenient and safe way to contact air-traffic control or a weather briefer while on the ground.)
PS Engineering’s innovative Internal Recording System (IRS™) is now standard equipment, a $130 savings! The pilots can instantly play back radio messages, eliminating the need for the pilot to request “say again,” or assure themselves that the last radio call was for them. The playback button is on the front panel. Up to 8 messages can be recorded and played back in sequence.
The PMA8000B/BT is backward compatible with our PMA8000 as well as a direct replacement for the GARMIN GMA340.

PMA8000C – Adds a 3rd Communication Radio capability

PMA8000G – flightmate® aural alerts and checklists and emergency procedure device.

The PMA8000G marks a major milestone in the company’s innovative history. Third generation user interface along with advanced digital processing, makes this a perfect fit for pilots who expect more from their audio panel while not wanting complexity. The PMA8000G is a natural choice for pilots who demand ease of use with a deep set of audio panel capabilities.
Introducing flightmate®, the first multi-function digital recorder/audio system available in an audio selector panel. Functions such as creating 4 aural alerts, creating checklists, and an instant aircraft radio playback are all part of this emergency procedures, just about anything that pilot can say, they can store into non-volatile memory, making those checklist chores a bit easier.
flightmate® also allows the creation of aural alert that are programmed by the pilot using a few front panel key presses while speaking into the pilot’s microphone. This records these annunciations in locations that are specific to one of the four discrete inputs of the audio panel. Anytime there is a change of state (a out of limit condition or a Sonalert starts to sound off) the associated message will sound out until it is acknowledged.
One of the four discrete messages is designed specifically for Sonalerts, the other three are for logic levels, typically coming from electronic engine instruments or other devices that give a change of state during a pre-set condition.
IntelliAudio® is another standard capability that will make listening to multiple radio calls manageable. With Com 1 in the 10 O’clock position and Com 2 in the 2 O’clock position, pilots can pay attention to the radio that is most important at any one instant of time.
Bluetooth® interconnectivity allows the pilot to have access to their Bluetooth® enabled telephone or entertainment device. The ability to contact ATC by way of the telephone with the engines running and radios tuned and set at an uncontrolled airfield makes getting into the air under IFR condition much easier.
We have also included a USB charging port that is rated at 10 watts. This charger provides enough power for iPads that are running the most demanding application. Finally, ease of use. We took a fresh approach to the user interface, making access to the advance functions much easier than in past iteration of the PMA8000 series.

PMA8000E – True Dual Audio Panel system ideally suited for King Airs and Light Jets.

The PMA8000E Audio Panel is truly a ground breaking audio system designed specifically for aircraft that require independent audio control for the crew.

The PMA8000E represents another evolution step in cockpit audio control and intercommunications utility. Using our patented IntelliVox® design and pilot programmable configurations, this marks the next level of audio control.
The unit is designed for outstanding ergonomics and visually defined mode annunciation and selections.
The PMA8000E is specifically designed to be used in a dual audio panel environment; where the pilot and copilot positions have independent control over the radio audio control. The PMA8000E units communicate information between the units to make the operation logical and utilitarian, and avoid operations that are inconsistent with radio and cockpit communications practices.
The PMA8000E is a ship set of two. With digital interface control, the pilot is always in control while allowing the copilot to off load radio communications as well allow access to the passengers without interrupting the pilot.
If the aircraft owner chooses, Bluetooth® can be enabled, allowing unprecedented capabilities for the crew or passengers to distribute phone calls or music. With two independent Bluetooth® interfaces, any one of a number of configurations will allow distribution of telephone and music.
There can never be any “strange states” because the intelligence that is built into the systems prevents this from occurring.
And like all of our PMA8000 series, there are front panel configuration that allows both the pilot and copilot to configure the intercom to best suite the needs of the cockpit crew and passengers.
