How the ARTEX ELT 345 Works

The ARTEX ELT 345 can be activated manually via the cockpit remote switch or directly at the ELT, or automatically when the internal G-Switch detects an impact of 2.3G or greater. Once activated, the ELT immediately alerts the nearest Search and Rescue (SAR) agency.

The 406 MHz distress signal, containing your aircraft’s GPS coordinates, is transmitted to the Cospas-Sarsat satellite system and routed to the appropriate Mission Control Center, which then notifies the closest SAR responders. Beacon registration identifies who you are, while the GPS data pinpoints where you are to within 100 metres. The 121.5 MHz homing signal allows rescue teams to precisely locate your aircraft on the ground.

Ease of Installation

The ARTEX ELT 345 is designed for quick and cost-effective installation. Its two-wire remote switch does not require aircraft power, simplifying retrofits. As a single-output ELT, it uses one RF output and a single coax cable to transmit both 406 MHz and 121.5 MHz signals.

The built-in navigational interface operates without aircraft power, further reducing installation complexity and cost.
